These handcrafted photographs are made using an early Victorian recipe. Ingredients include silver, beeswax, lavender oil, and salt, which are applied by hand onto a heavy Hahnemuhle platine paper. The photographs are contact printed with sunlight and toned with gold. Beeswax & lavender oil are buffed into the paper. The results are an archival image with delicate tones and a soft luster not possible with modern sprayed-on ink. The handcrafted nature of this simple, yet demanding, process means that each work is individually created one at a time and no two are exactly the same.
